SETTING
This well-known Thai restaurant has relocated from Soi Ruamrudee to South Sathorn Road. A well-lit converted house with outdoor seating provides a stylish venue still maintaining a Thai theme. The spacious setting provides paintings by local artists on the wall for viewing and purchase.
FOOD
Excellent Thai cuisine in a period setting. The menu represents nicely the culinary wonders of Thai cooking. All typical Thai dishes are listed
including phad thai, papaya salad or chuchee, and all are full of flavour as good Thai food should be. The level of spiciness can be adjusted to suit all palates. International favourite green curry is superbly done and is a dish to brag about; it can be made with your choice of meat or seafood. If you like shrimp, chuchee goong nang or deep-fried river prawns in red curry will take you to new heights. For dessert try the house speciality bua loy Baan Khanitha and traditional
mango and sticky rice with home-made coconut ice cream; both are wonderful.
WINES
A wide range of wines from France and other major producing areas, plus champagnes and sparkling wines, at reasonable prices.
SERVICE
The staff is fluent in English and always eager to help. Very friendly and approachable, they appear to know the menu by heart and are not shy to provide suggestions.
PRICE
A meal for two comprising five dishes with rice comes to over 2,000 baht, without wine or drinks.
