SETTING
Falabella is located within the grounds of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, but is open to the public. Choose from the magical outdoor
wooden terrace overlooking the golf greens or the cozy brick and black banquette interior with a comfortable, low-key indirect-lighting mood.
FOOD
Venetian chef Andreas Bonifacio, trained under Milanese three-star chef Gualtiero Marchesi, says the menu reflects his father’s south Italy roots. Start with foie gras on a salad of rocket and green apple, the light balsamic reduction and fat raisins complementing the creamy foie gras. Veal with tuna sauce and Italian pickles is also good. From a variety of salads, try tonno fagioli e cipola, a zesty salad of tuna with calamata olives, cherry tomatoes, spanish onions and rocket salad. Among pastas, crispy cheese-topped lasagna della casa al ragu di tre carni is simply delicious. Phuket lobster spaghetti, a half lobster in its shell in delicious tomato, spring onion and fresh basil sauce, is divine. Grilled lamb cutlets is excellent and so is New Zealand venison stew. Linger over classic tiramisu, lemon cream with strawberry sorbet or chocolate and chilli tortino with mango sorbet,
and strong coffee.
WINES
A well-stocked, chrome and glass cellar near the bar has over 100 vintages, half Italian supplemented by other major wine regions, and
many in the 1,000-2,000 baht range.
SERVICE
The bilingual staff is friendly, quick, attentive and good with menu advice.
