SETTING
Gabin is a smart family-style Korean restaurant decorated in a contemporary setting. The restaurant is relatively large with seating on
two floors, patronised mainly by Korean diners.
FOOD
Traditional Korean barbeque plus soup, noodle and rice dishes. All barbeque dishes are served with an unlimited supply of cold side
dishes which include classic kimchi, boiled spinach and fried tofu, replenished throughout the meal. The choice of barbeque meat consists of various cuts of beef and pork. The luxury of a barbeque at Gabin is that a waitress will grill the meat for you at your table, and the efficient extractor fan prevents you from smelling of smoke. Try broiled sirloin of beef, without marinade, but the meat is very tender and delicious dipped in sauces. Also good is grilled fresh beef-ribs, marinated in a spicy sauce and grilled to your liking. Korean soups are served hot-pot style and here you can enjoy several combinations but be warned, they are large. Fans of the Korean pickled lettuce will love kimchi with beef stew, and seafood and vegetable stew is a
favourite among regulars. Not to be missed either are the mouth-watering rice and noodle dishes; try rice topped with beef, vegetables and egg in sizzling pot or mixed cold noodle. To clean your palate after the meal, there is ice cream on offer.
WINES
Apart from beer, there is only a basic red and white wine on offer.
SERVICE
Excellent service; waitresses are very attentive and helpful.
PRICE
Dinner for two is about 1,300 baht.
