SETTING
This quaint little house is set in the courtyard of an old mansion and just oozes character. There is indoor seating as well as small open-air dining areas, each like a small museum of Thai antiques.
FOOD
The first impression walking into this restaurant is from cheerful staff greeting you and a warm atmosphere that makes you feel at home.
The menu offers a wide range of Thai cuisine. For appetisers, try cheese spring rolls or fish satay. The latter comes in a generous portion of fish marinated in curry sauce and lemongrass accompanied by a delicious dipping sauce. Spicy fish soup or tom yum is delicious, served as spicy as you like it and with enormous chunks of fish. For more excitement, try a sizzling grilled plate offering grilled prawns which comes with lots of crispy garlic. Explore a more meaty dish in duck topped with orange sauce; very colourful with the meat cooked just right. For dessert, home-made brownies is a must try; rich chunky and sticky chocolate brownies are great with iced tea or coffee to end the meal.
WINES
Limited wine list but there are some good choices. This restaurant is also known for its rich coffee and other non-alcoholic cocktails.
SERVICE
Limited number of staff but they try hard to provide good service and keep a close watch on guests’ needs.
PRICE
For about 1,300 baht, two can enjoy quality time and unique food without wine.
