SETTING

The decor is similar to that of a huge beach bungalow with lots of white wooden slats, including on the ceiling, and tables of white stone. Windows overlook the shopping complex’s front entrance and Sukhumvit Road.

FOOD

Yummy Thai dishes with lots of spices, but some lulls, make this a place for a quick, hot bite while shopping, but perhaps not a kitchen to pilgrimage to. Smoked mid-rib duck salad very nicely slices smoked duck on onions, tomatoes, tiny potatoes and lettuce, accompanied by two sauces. A very fine phad thai bursts with ingredients, including shrimp, tofu, sprouts, thin rice noodles, and other goodies. Roti with chicken curry brings a bowl with some bits of very spicy meat and comes with a flakey roti bread. Fermented rice noodle with vegetable lives up to its promise with a powerful, spice-infused sauce to pour over the noodles. Traditional Thai spicy mixed vegetable shrimp soup has a fishy flavour, in addition to baby corn and other veggies bobbing amid unshelled meat. The restaurant is known for its cakes and baked goodies, with many buying to take home.

WINES

The wine list is brief and mainly generic, as most diners do not order wine with their meals here.

SERVICE

An hour before closing, they may ask for last orders as the restaurant clears out, but on the whole the staff seems to be doing the best they can.

PRICE

With about 1,200 baht, two people can eat an adequate meal, without wine.
