SETTING
Tatonka is located at Tinlay Place in Cherng Talay. There are bold murals, styled after Native American art painted by the chef, Harald
Schwarz, himself. Subtle hints as to just how eclectic this place is are everywhere.
FOOD
The music and art at Tatonka are from two different continents, while the dishes created by Harald are from all the others, bar Antarctica.
The menu is extensive; Harald and his staff are more than happy to suggest dishes, or even to adapt items to the diner’s desire. Everything on the menu is a work of art, almost too good to eat. Try sesame-topped tofu with sauteed oriental mushrooms or crab cakes with a delicate mustard dip. Even better, try deep-fried prawns in brittle
taquito shells. These are just a few of the starters, which can be served en masse or one by one, each new dish seemingly surpassing the last. A plate of tender, fragrant grilled chicken with couscous should leave the diner with just enough room for dessert. These change daily and are absolute gems, but then Tatonka is replete with
unhidden treasures.
WINES
An extensive new world wine list fully complements the eclectic menu.
SERVICE
Very attentive and knowledgeable, with a good amount of English spoken, reflecting the cosmopolitan setting.
PRICE
For a couple dining at Tatonka without wine, expect to pay about 1,400 baht.
